IBO-Netherlands has scheduled an extra projectweek specially for Volters from the border region of Sout-East Brabant, Limburg, Germany-NRW and Belgium. VOLT members can meet each other here and at the same time contribute to this beautiful social project with their "purple hands". You can also join if you are not a VOLT member.
In 'VinziRast am Land', the formerly homeless find a home and meaningful work. Tilling the soil with their own hands, sowing seeds, planting plants, reaping the harvest and experiencing how something grows and blooms strengthens their sense of self-esteem. In a supportive community and with professional support, long-forgotten skills are rediscovered. Not far from Vienna, a former hotel offers the ideal infrastructure for exactly this project: spacious cultivated areas, meadows and forests, common areas, small residential units, work and seminar rooms and guest rooms. The intention for the project is to become self-sufficient in the long run through the sale of eggs and vegetable crates, catering and room rental. And help is very much needed! On this project we would like to install and furnish a vintage shop, replace the chicken coop fence and carry out all kinds of renovation work on the site.
Volunteer work
Volunteers are expected to contribute to woodwork and carpentry, general renovation work, gardening and landscaping work and other jobs on site.
Accommodation
You will stay on location with the project partner and meals will be provided.
Leisure
In your spare time you can visit Mayerling and surrounding places for cultural excursions and relaxation. There are also numerous opportunities to take walks in surrounding nature reserves. In addition, there will be a meeting with the local Austrian VOLT branch.
Travel
You arrange your own trip to Mayerling and will be picked up there by the project partner.
Or you will travel together with other Volt members
You arrange the travel to your project yourself. IBO asks all volunteers to travel in the most sustainable way possible, so preferably by train or bus. What you at least can do, is compensate your CO2 emissions. You can find more information about this on the website of Milieu Centraal. You can also compensate your emissions via IBO, by donating to our partner’s tree planting project in Uganda. You can read more about that here.
Preparation
IBO offers a good preparation for your volunteering work abroad. You will receive a digital information package and an invitation to a (online) preparation meeting.

For this project you pay €50 registration fee and €189 participation fee. If you become an IBO-supporter, you don't have to pay the registration fee.
