Renovate a farm for animal welfare, environmental awareness and social inclusion in Cörmigk

The project

NaturGut Cörmigk is a community-oriented farm where animals in need, dedicated people, and shared learning find a home. The farm features species-specific animal enclosures, an accessible, participatory food preparation area, and overnight accommodations for youth groups. NaturGut Cörmigk thus combines animal welfare, environmental awareness, and social inclusion. Their goal is to create infrastructure for environmental and community projects in rural areas through their initiative. Sustainability, functionality, and educational impact are key considerations in the construction process.

Volunteer work

Volunteers will tackle paving, roofing, carpentry, and tiling tasks to help the NaturGut Cörmigk project with its construction and bring it one step closer to its goal.

Accommodation

You will stay on location with the project partner.

Leisure

In their free time, volunteers can barbecue or make a campfire, walk with the farm animals, or in the summer take advantage of the many swimming lakes in the area.

Travel

You arrange your own trip to Mannheim and will be picked up there by the project partner.

IBO asks all volunteers to travel in the most sustainable way possible, so preferably with public transport. Sometimes travelling by plane is inevitable. We kindly suggest to compensate your CO2 emissions. You can find more information about this on the website of Milieu Centraal. You can also compensate your emissions through IBO, by donating to our partner’s tree planting project in Uganda. You can read more about that here.

Preparation

IBO offers a good preparation for your volunteering work abroad. You will receive a digital information package and an invitation to a preparation meeting. Read more about the proces from departure until return.
