This project is the result of the collaboration with the association "Ali del Vento", which is active in the field of horse riding, both with lessons inside and with rides. The project also has a strong social value in the practice of Animal Assisted Interventions (IAA) in favor of disabled people and on the vision of an ethical human-horse perspective and ethological approach, not based on the exploitation of the animal, but on its respect and well-being as fundamental elements.
In fact, all the horses of the school have a special history and have left behind bad experiences. The restored well-being of these horses is a wonderful combination with the happiness of children, disabled and not disabled, who can enjoy the relationship with these beautiful animals. One of the goals is also the development of affordable horse riding for everyone (including adults): horse riding can be a sport that is accessible to everyone and not a luxury.
The Cona Ferrara project is part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). The European Solidarity Corps is the European Union’s programme for young people aged 18 to 30 to help build a more inclusive society, help vulnerable people and tackle social challenges. It offers the opportunity to gain personal and professional learning and growth experiences in one of the EU Member States and to bring about positive change in the local community. It promotes the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
