Small but active, the community of Vellexon-Queutrey-et-Vaudey is counting on international volunteers to transform its territory! The inhabitants of this village in Haute-Saône are looking forward to welcoming their second international project. It corresponds to the UN mission of "sustainable and powerful cities" and its objectives. This involves discovering new and different ways of thinking and acting, sharing skills, investing in the development of a territory and participating in collective life: there will be many opportunities to declare solidarity! Each project offers unique experiences, so come to Vellexon and create your own!
Volunteer work
The Vellexon community would like to create a space for social connections in the heart of their city. To make this possible, this year we are continuing to create a place that should soon host exchanges focused on solidarity and intergenerational connections. To contribute to this development, you will renovate the paving (floor) of the wash house located next to this square, for about 6 hours a day. You will learn techniques of traditional masonry (wall construction). No knowledge is required! You will develop as a team with the help of two professional project leaders. The volunteers share all tasks related to collective life, such as cooking, cleaning, after-work activities.
Accommodation
The municipality offers two spaces specifically for the group of volunteers: the first is intended for sleeping, with common rooms for three or four people of mixed gender, with mattresses provided by the locals. Bring your own blankets, pillows or sleeping bags. The second space is a multifunctional space with a kitchen, ideal for meals and socializing. Showering and washing are done in the homes of the locals. The work place is only a three-minute walk away and for other trips, such as shopping or visiting the surroundings, the locals are happy to help. Accompanied by the project leaders, you will cook the menu and take turns preparing the meals every day. The budget is around €5 per day per person. There is the possibility of eating vegetarian or vegan and making plans if necessary. You will often share meals with the villagers, giving you the opportunity to discover the local gastronomy and share special moments.
Leisure
Whether in the afternoon or at the weekend, it is the group itself that initiates and organizes the leisure activities. The ideal program takes into account everyone's wishes, local opportunities (walks, local artists, summer concerts, "castles", etc.) and the financial side of things. Everything is done in good consultation.
