Care for vulnerable wild animals and maintain the Animal Shelter in Bursa

The project

The Ovakorusu Wild Animal Shelter is a sanctuary specifically for animals. This facility provides shelter and cares for injured or vulnerable wild animals in their natural environment. The animals are kept in their natural habitat to minimize the transition. Dozens of vulnerable predators, such as bears, wolves, foxes, hawks, and owls, reside there. Volunteers assist with the daily feeding of the animals. If necessary, they participate in the animals' treatments and vaccinations, alongside professionals. The cleaning and maintenance of the facility are also carried out by volunteers. In addition, volunteers assist with repairs and painting areas in need of repair. Working with wild animals is done while observing the necessary safety measures. Our volunteers have gained extraordinary experience with this project over the past few years. Highly suitable for animal lovers!

Volunteer work

Volunteers contribute to the care of the animals, cleaning and maintenance of the facilities, and repairs and painting. It is a combination of ecological work and odd jobs and contributes to the conservation of protected animal species.

Accommodation

There is a small guesthouse for volunteers on the premises. Volunteers stay in rooms for 2-3 people. The guesthouse features a kitchen, showers, a toilet, and air conditioning. There is a common area where volunteers can meet. Volunteers prepare their own meals together in the guesthouse.

Leisure

Bursa boasts a rich historical and natural heritage, having been the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. Built in a wooded area, this city also features natural beauty well worth seeing. The city can be reached from Istanbul airports by shuttle bus in approximately 3 hours. In this city, which is also known for its gastronomy, numerous excursions and cultural activities await. Volunteers can socialize to their heart's content at the accommodation.
