Holiday for the children of Brezovica

Seventy children with multiple disabilities live in a Caritas institution in the town of Brezovica in Croatia. The children live in residential groups and have their own permanent supervision. Throughout the year they go to school and there are daily activities for them. But in the summer there is a long, long vacation.

Some children can go to family during the holidays, but a large number remain in the institution all summer. In order to give them a nice summer too, Caritas asks for the commitment of volunteers. IBO would like to contribute to this and therefore recruits a group of international volunteers every year, who organize holiday activities for the children of Brezovica for two weeks. They will play games together, set out and solve quests, make music, dance, play sports, do crafts, face painting, put on a play, take a walk, look for animals, collect twigs and much more. The creativity of the volunteers is inexhaustible.

Unfortunately, this project could not continue in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. Hopefully, volunteers will be able to go to Brezovica again in 2021, because look how cool that is!
